Discover more comedy with a customized feed
This week, we are making it easier for comedy fans to laugh more by making our default page for logged-in users a feed of content. With the launch of the Feed, we are also introducing a new navigation bar for Punchup users, which provides direct access to the feed, a content library and show dates.
This new way of experiencing Punchup makes it easier to:
- Discover new comedians via videos surfaced in the Feed
- Watch content from followed comedians in Library
- Find out where Punchup Comedians will be appearing in Shows Nearby
Now, when a user visits Punchup and signs in, they will be taken to the Feed page, which is noted by the “Home” icon on the navigation bar. The Feed content is drawn from all of Punchup, not just from the comedians a user has already followed, and is tailored based on a user's subscriptions, watch history and profile location. Within Feed, users can expect to find videos, new and suggested comedians that can be followed, and details of upcoming shows near the zip code within their Punchup accounts.
In addition to the Feed experience are icons for the Library and Shows Nearby. The Library contains all the content for subscribed-to comedians, making it easy for users to find more content from comedians they love, or to revisit videos they would like to watch again.
Shows Nearby surfaces all shows for Punchup comedians near a user’s location, if they have shared one within their profile. Users can add or change geographies by clicking on “Change Location,” button, and inputting a postal code and radius that they would like to see shows.
We are excited that the Feed gives comedy lovers an opportunity to see and discover more great comedic talent. Adding the navigation bar with easy links to the Library and Shows Nearby also removes barriers and improves the user experience, especially on our mobile site. We are confident that these changes make it easier to find more comedy - both on our site and in person!
