What is Punchup?

Punchup is a platform that connects entertainers with their fans.  We make it easy for entertainers to share content on their terms, and for fans to know when their favorite performers will be on stage nearby.

What does Punchup provide for entertainers?

Punchup provides a space for entertainers to share content on their terms.  With our “guest list” feature, Punchup captures email addresses of fans, and enables entertainers to let fans know when they are touring nearby.  

Entertainer Punchup pages also feature space for tour dates and ticket links, which is used to provide reporting on where tickets are selling well and where they need some help.  

How do I sign up for Punchup as an Entertainer?

What does Punchup provide for fans?

Punchup provides an opportunity for fans to discover new entertainers, and to see more of the content that they love from current favorites.  We also make it easy for fans to find out when and where to find live shows near them.

What does it mean to subscribe to a guest list?

Subscribing to an entertainer’s guest list allows visitors to view content that the entertainer has posted on Punchup.  It lets Punchup know which entertainers you like so that we can surface their content in your Feed, and let you know when subscribed entertainers will be performing near you.

Why does Punchup ask for my email address?  What do you do with it?

Punchup takes and verifies email addresses for the use of the entertainers whose guest lists’ you’ve joined.  We will only use your email to notify you of content we think you would like to see, special messages from entertainers guest lists you’ve joined, and with dates and information of upcoming shows near you. 

Does Punchup sell my data?

No, Punchup only discloses your email to entertainers whose guest list you have signed up for.  Other than that, we do not share any of your information.

How can I see if an entertainer is coming to my town?

When you are watching content from an entertainer, we try to surface on the screen when the entertainer will be in your town next.  You can also click on their “Tour tab” from an entertainers’ page to see upcoming booked shows.  

Why are “shows near me” not the right location?

It’s possible that we do not have the right location, or postal/zip code, for you.  When you are logged in to Punchup, we ask for your zip code.  You can change this at any time by clicking on the menu, and then “Profile” and making any changes there.

My favorite entertainer is charging for a special or podcast - how can I purchase it?

Click on the link to the content that you’d like to purchase.  We use Link to complete purchases - it enables purchases via Credit Card, CashApp Pay, Google Pay and Apple Pay.  When you purchase an entertainers’ content, you will also have the option to join their guest list if you are not already on it.  

I signed up via Email or SMS, are you guys going to send me messages?

At Punchup we utilize Email and SMS to facilitate messages between artists and their fans so you should only see custom messages from Punchup on behalf of the artists you follow on the site.

In addition, we provide weekly digests, reminders, etc., should you choose to utilize them. These settings can be adjusted in your user profile.

Account Information

How do I create an account?

You create an account by giving Punchup your email address, zip code and “subscribing” to Punchup entertainers’ guest lists.  You can also sign in to Punchup through your Google and Facebook logins.

How can I update my email address?

Log in to your Punchup account with the initial email you used (or via Google, or Facebook).  If you used an email login, you will receive a confirmation code via email to complete the login.  Then, click on the Menu tab (three horizontal lines at top right of screen), then Profile” and make any changes needed.

How can I change my location?

Why am I getting notifications or emails for the wrong location?

Please check to ensure that you have the right zip code entered in your profile.  You can do this by logging in to your Punchup account your preferred login method (email, Google or Facebook).  Then, click on the Menu tab (three horizontal lines at top right of screen), then Profile” and scroll to “zip code,” where you can make any changes needed.

How do I join an entertainer’s guest list?

Click on any of our entertainers’ pages and then an orange tab that says “watch for free.”  This will enable you to join the entertainers’ guest list.

How do I get off an entertainer’s guest list?

Make sure that you are logged in to Punchup, and click on the Menu tab (three horizontal lines at top right of screen), then Profile.”  From the Profile page, scroll down to “Your Subscriptions” and then check “Free Subscriptions.”  Click the orange “Unsubscribe” button next to any entertainer whose list you want to leave.  

Where can I see a list of entertainers I am following?

Make sure that you are logged in to Punchup, and click on the Menu tab (three horizontal lines at top right of screen), then Profile.”  From the Profile page, scroll down to “Your Subscriptions” and then check “Free Subscriptions.”  The list of entertainers you are following will be there.

How do I update my email/notification settings?

Make sure that you are logged into Punchup, and click on the Menu tab (three horizontal lines at top right of screen), then Profile.”  From the Profile page, scroll down to “Notification Preferences” and ensure that your preferences are set accordingly.
